MAD Lions have chosen to go international with the signing of the Polish rifler, Paweł “innocent” Mocek, who joins the team on an undisclosed contract.

MAD Lions have been down to four players after Lucas “Bubzkji” Andersen departed the team in favor of Astralis last week, and after negotiations with Jonas “Lekr0” Olofsson came to a halt, the Danes chose to set their sights on innocent.

The 26-year old has spent most of his career playing for Polish teams such as x-kom, Kinguin, and most recently, Illuminar—and he is set to make his debut for the team at DreamHack Summer this weekend.

In a statement on Twitter, innocent emphasized his excitement about joining the Danish roster:

Thrilled to have the opportunity to join a team like MAD Lions,” innocent wrote “If you know me, you know I will work my ass off to make it work, as I did last year in order to be here. Hopefully I can use this chance to prove myself on the highest level of competition.

With the addition of innocent, MAD Lions’ roster now looks as follows:

  • 🇩🇰 Frederik “acoR” Gyldstrand
  • 🇩🇰 Rasmus “sjuush” Beck
  • 🇩🇰 Fredrik “roeJ” Jørgensen
  • 🇩🇰 Asger “AcilioN” Larsen
  • 🇵🇱 Paweł “innocent” Mocek

What does this mean for MAD Lions?

The move means that MAD Lions will be forced to transition over to communicating in English rather than Danish. This will be an all-new experience for the likes of sjuush, roeJ and acoR. However, the fact that their in-game leader AcilioN has played for several international teams will certainly aid them in this regard. innocent is also no stranger to international rosters, having played for the likes of Sprout, PENTA and Tempo Storm in the past.

The question is how MAD Lions will be able to cope without Bubzkji, who was the team’s top fragger. While innocent is no slouch in terms of fragging ability, it needs to be said that he is more passive than Bubzkji. With all these changes and the limited amount of practice, it is not unreasonable to expect a bit of a transition period for MAD Lions.
