The second semi-final of Worlds will be an all-LPL affair with Top Esports facing Suning on Sunday. Here are two markets to consider for your Picklebet slip.
Top Esports (1.50)
I’m slightly surprised Top Esports’ odds are as high as this. It’s not that Suning are a bad team, but Top Esports have been so consistent in the last few months that it’s hard to see Suning competing in team engagements. Top Esports finished the group stage of Worlds with a 5-1 record in Group D. Although they were troubled by Fnatic in an epic five-map quarterfinal, Top Esports have a lot more offensive depth than Suning. This might go the distance again, but I’d always back the roster that has been consistent for longer.
Another surprising factor in this matchup is JackeyLove’s lack of kills. He is averaging three kills, which is well below his usual offensive output. Still, he has a kill participation of over 11 with a KDA of 5.39. Top Esports’ explosive mid laner has been typically efficient, averaging four kills. Jungler Karsa also has a kill participation of over 10. This strong offensive trio will be hard to stop for Suning.
Map handicap: Top Esports -1.5 (2.09)
Technically, this could be a game that will be won or lost in the lanes. Top Esports prefer a rapid-kill style that can often blind opponents prior to dragon or baron spawns. They’ve mastered that technique, but Suning will be aware of that lane aggression.
Despite that, I can’t see Suning being able to provide enough offense of their own to send Top’s players back to their base too often. This might happen in one map but not more. As a result, there could be two possible scorelines (Top Esports to win 3-0 or 3-1). Instead of picking one of those, the map handicap could be a better market to target.
