Damwon Gaming v DragonX

Total maps: Over 3.5 (1.69)

Damwon Gaming have been in sensational form at Worlds. Of that, there is no doubt. However, this market requires DragonX to win just one map. That is definitely possible considering there isn’t a big difference in the style of play of both these teams. Both are LCK teams, accustomed to each other’s strengths and weaknesses as well. Damwon Gaming finished with a 5-1 record, while DragonX had a 4-2 record. That is indicative that these two teams are quite close to each other.

Pyosik has been DragonX’s standout performer at this event. He has averaged a stunning 5.83 kills per game along with 5.67 assists. A low death rate of 1.83 has helped him earn his KDA of 6.27. Chovy, Deft and Doran have all averaged over two kills per game as well. This all-round production has held the team in good stead because their defense has been excellent right through.

Suning Gaming v JD Gaming

JD Gaming (1.57)

You might have to answer just one question for this match: which is the more skilled roster? That’s because this is a best-of-five fixture. In a best of one, there is a chance that an inexperienced team can upstage the bigger, better team. However, over a sustained period of time, like five maps, it’s highly likely that the skill eventually dictates the flow of the game. For me, JD Gaming have proven repeatedly that they have a deeper, more experienced roster. That’s almost solely why JD Gaming is a safe and reliable pick in this quarterfinal.

Surprisingly, it has been Zoom that has been the most productive player at this event. He has averaged five kills per game, which is fantastic for his role. Loken, JD Gaming’s bot laner, has been averaging 3.17 kills per map. Jungler Kanavi has also chipped in with a significant 3 kills per map. Four players from JD Gaming have averaged over seven assists per game as well.
