The LPL continues on Monday with a couple of fixtures, including FunPlus Phoenix facing the resurgent Victory Five. Here are some bets to consider from Monday’s League of Legends action.
Map handicap: Edward Gaming -1.5 (1.52)
Edward Gaming haven’t been as solid as they were at the start of the spring split. Part of that is because of the unavailability of their star ADC Hope. However, they’ve still won 2 of 5 series, with 7 map wins out of 14. They are slightly above middling in the LPL and would like to put in a decent performance against a team that has struggled right through this summer season. Out of 6 matches, Dominus Esports are yet to win one. They have won just one map out of a total of 13, which means only one of those six matches was taken to a third map.
BBD will have to replace Hope while he recovers from a collapsed lung. Edward Gaming will lose a lot of kills with this transition but it’s an opportunity for others to step up as well. Aodi and Scout have complemented Hope well, with a combined kill rate of over five per game. Scout even has the best KDA in Edward Gaming with 5.21. They will need him desperately to step up and keep Edward Gaming relevant in the LPL.
FunPlus Phoenix (1.39)
It’s slightly surprising that FunPlus Phoenix have lost two of five matches in this summer season. They are coming into this game on the back of a win though, which will leave them high on confidence. They’ve won 8 of 13 maps, which isn’t too bad considering their middling start to the split. Victory Five have made a fantastic start to this season, but I’m not sure if they have the depth of resources to stay abreast with this FunPlus team. Despite Victory Five’s form, I’d still go with FunPlus Phoenix.
Doinb has been in terrific touch for FunPlus Phoenix in this campaign so far. He leads his team in kill participation (4.15 kills and 7.54 assists per game). Bot laner Lwx isn’t far away, with 3.92 kills and 6.69 assists per game. Interestingly, four players from FunPlus Phoenix have a KDA of over 4. That’s an indicator of their all-round prowess.
