Team WE v LNG Esports

Map handicap: Team WE -1.5 (1.62)

Team WE have been sensational in the summer split to date. It remains to be seen whether they can maintain this impressive run of form but they have certainly displayed effectiveness in the LPL. So far, they have won 6 of 9 series. In terms of maps, they’ve won 15 of 24 games. This has put them fifth in the LPL standings, looking to creep into the top four after quite a long while. LNG Esports, on the other hand, are struggling with a 2-7 matches record, languishing at 14th on the points table. That difference in quality and momentum will make a big difference in this one.

Team WE have been led inspirationally by Jiumeng, who has averaged 4.33 kills per game. Beishang has provided able support with 3.29 kills as well. Both players have chipped in with more than six assists apiece per map. This level of offensive production has held Team WE in good stead as this season has progressed. Teacherama has a kill participation rate of over 10 too. LNG Esports are going to have a hard time staying with these three players.

LGD Gaming v Rogue Warriors

Total maps: Over 2.5 (2.42)

There isn’t much doubt about LGD Gaming’s skill level. They have won 5 of 8 series to start the summer season, challenging for playoffs spots. However, Rogue Warriors are no pushovers. They are coming into this game on the back of a confidence-boosting win against Dominus Esports over the weekend. I don’t see Rogue Warriors winning the entire series but there is enough depth and momentum in the squad to plausibly take this matchup into the third map. Rogue Warriors will also be desperate to get themselves out of the bottom of the LPL standings.

Rogue Warriors will rely heavily on ZWuji, who has averaged 3.23 kills a game. Ruby and Holder have also chipped in with offensive production, with kill participation rates of close to 10. They will need to step up in order to win a map against a quality team in LGD Gaming.
