Will fnatic kickstart the new season with a win against Spirit? We break down that match and more in today's betting tips.
Spirit got the better of fnatic in DreamHack Masters Spring earlier in the year, which was the first time that these two teams faced off against each other. Both of these teams tend to ban Vertigo, and this usually favors the team that picks last, which is fnatic in this case. However, Spirit does have a deep enough map pool that this doesn’t matter too much. They will get to pick either Dust2 or Nuke, and they will have an edge regardless of which one they pick. As for fnatic, well, they will likely pick either Inferno or Train in this situation. Inferno was their map choice the last time around, and while they did lose that game, I actually think that it was the correct choice. This is a difficult game to call. I quite like Spirit as a team, but at these odds, there is some value on fnatic.
GODSENT +1.5 (1.60)
GODSENT and G2 have faced off twice this year, and both teams have a win apiece. GODSENT swept G2 the last time around, and I quite like their chances again here at the longer number. Nuke and Train were the maps the last time aroound, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see the same set of maps. While it is true that GODSENT looked very lackluster in their recent match against NaVi, it doesn’t change the fact that they have solid upset potential against the big guns of the group.
Gen.G -1.5 (2.01)
Triumph haven’t won a game since Grim left the team, losing to Chaos, Ze Pug Godz, Evil Geniuses and Cloud9. They just picked up the former EnvyUs player ryann, but they have had little time to properly integrate him into the team. ryann should get some more room to shine on Triumph, but when it comes to firepower, it is hard to expect much from him. Gen.G are favourites here for a reason, and I think they have what it takes to sweep the series.
