We break down the matchup between FURIA and Virtus.pro at cs summit 7.
Over 2.5 Maps (1.98)
Virtus.pro came out swinging in the opening match, beating NiP 2-0. An impressive victory when you consider how the two teams stack up against each other in terms of map pools. They will now take on a FURIA team that beat Cloud9 2-1 in the opener. Again, they will be forced to face off against an opponent that perma-bans Dust2, which is far from ideal for them. The last time these two teams played, Virtus.pro even picked Inferno against FURIA, which is FURIA’s most picked map in the pool. This ended up backfiring for them, as they ended up losing the map and the game. I give FURIA a decent shot at taking this to a decider, despite the fact that they are still playing with honda who had yet another questionable game against Cloud9. With that said, Virtus.pro are playing some excellent CS at the moment and I have a hard time seeing that they would get swept here. In fact, they likely get things done against FURIA, even if it may take three maps to do so. For that reason, I think taking FURIA on the handicap isn’t as good of a play as the over at close to even money. Taking VP to win the game outright is also a decent play, but for a much lower return on investment.
