We take break down today's do-or-die matchup between Astralis and BIG at BLAST Premier Spring
BIG +1.5 (1.75) or BIG Map 1 +3.5 (1.84)
Astralis take on BIG in this consolidation final. This match will be key, as the winner will get the benefit of qualifying straight for the BLAST Spring Finals, while the loser will have to go through the Spring Showdown. The last time these two sides met was at the IEM Global Challenge, where BIG pulled off the upset with a clean 2-0 sweep after wins on Vertigo and Dust2. Astralis have the better H2H record with three wins and one loss in BO3s, but most of those games were played in 2019 when BIG had worse rosters.
Considering that Astralis have looked a bit suspect at this event, I think it is worth considering a bet on BIG at these odds. In terms of map pools, there are no obvious weak points for Astralis to exploit, since BIG are pretty solid across the board on the maps that we are likely going to see in this series. I think you can definitely consider the round handicap on Map 1 as well at about the same odds, since I think it is quite likely that they will be competitive even if they were to lose their map choice. However, it is hard to know how good of a bet it is with the juice taken into account without knowing what map that they will pick beforehand. Personally, I think Nuke or Overpass would be the best play for BIG in this series. Astralis aren’t the dominant team of old on Nuke anymore, and the likes of NiP and Vitality have shown that Astralis are more than beatable on Overpass. As long as they go that route, I think the BIG Map 1 exotics aren’t a bad choice in this series.
