Natus Vincere have announced a show match between the current NaVi roster and the team that started it all back in 2010, featuring the likes of markeloff and Edward. The show match marketed as ‘Boomers vs. Zoomers’ will kick off August 1 and will feature the two following teams:

NaVi 2020

  • 🇺🇦 s1mple
  • 🇷🇺 Perfecto
  • 🇷🇺 electronic
  • 🇷🇺 Boombl4
  • 🇷🇺 flamie

NaVi 2010

  • 🇺🇦 markeloff
  • 🇺🇦 Zeus
  • 🇺🇦 Edward
  • 🇺🇦 starix
  • 🇺🇦 ceh9

The Format

This will be a six-map series, with CS 1.6 being the game of choice for the first three maps of the game. The three remaining maps will be played in CS:GO, where NaVi 2020 will undoubtedly have a huge advantage against the old guard. The match will kick-off with detrain and deinferno, the two maps that NaVi won when they trumped fnatic in the finals of IEM CeBIT 2010.

Maps:

  • Train (1.6)
  • Inferno (1.6)
  • Tuscan (1.6)
  • Train (CS:GO)
  • Inferno (CS:GO)
  • Dust2 (CS:GO)

s1mple vs. markeloff

One of the most tantalizing prospects about this match is the AWP duel between s1mple and markeloff, two of the best wielders of this weapon in their respective iteration of the game. While markeloff played CS:GO for an extensive period of time for FlipS1d3, he only picked up the AWP on occasion despite being regarded as one of the best AWPers of all-time in CS 1.6. For that reason, fans are looking forward to seeing markeloff return to the game where he established himself as one of the world’s most skilled players with big green gun.

How will s1mple fare with the AWP in CS 1.6?

With the AWP receiving plenty of nerfs in CS:GO since the start of the game, the AWP in CS 1.6 appears almost overpowered in comparison. s1mple has always been one of the best players at no-scopes in CS:GO and has mentioned that he practices this technique frequently. In CS 1.6, s1mple will enjoy fully accurate no-scopes as long as he holds the trigger down after a scoped shot, as well as fully accurate shots while quick-scoping.

Where to Watch

The show match will be hosted by Tres “stunna” Saranthus and kicks off August 1 on twitch.tv/csgomaincast with English commentary by Jason “moses” O’Toole and Anders “Anders” Blume. Expert analysis will also be provided by Jacob “Pimp” Winneche and Halvor “vENdetta” Gulestøl.
