LoL Worlds to commence on September 25: who could win it all?

The groups and play-in of the League of Legends Worlds have been released. The play-in of the Worlds will begin on September 25.

Format for the play-in

A total of 10 teams are split into two groups of five. There will be a single round-robin for each group, with the winner advancing to the main stage. The teams that finish third and fourth in their group will play a best-of-five series. The winner of that series will face the second-placed team in the other group, with the winner also advancing to the main stage.

Format of the group stage

Sixteen teams, split into four groups of four teams, will participate in the group stage. Every group will play a best-of-one double round-robin series. The two teams ranked at the top of each group will qualify for the knockouts. The group stage is scheduled to begin on October 3.

Who could win it all?

Several teams far exceeded their expectations in their respective local leagues. However, China’s Top Esports were unmatched in the LPL. G2 Esports made a sensational recovery in the LEC after an appalling first half. The other team that could make the final is the LCS’ Team SoloMid, with new bot laner Doublelift.
