The LEC resumes on Friday with a five-game round of fixtures. We break down three of those matches with predictions below.
Misfits Gaming (1.51)
Misfits started the LEC a bit slowly. This was after they dominated Fnatic in the split opener but collapsed under pressure to lose. However, they regained some momentum last weekend, carrying their record to 2-3 for the season. Their new bot laner Kobbe is starting to find some of his best form, which should leave them in good stead.
Vitality have gone the other way. They started the season well, with a win against Schalke in their opener, but have now also fallen to a 2-3 record. There is enough depth in the Misfits roster to take down Vitality, particularly with Febiven and Razork in decent shape.
Schalke 04 (2.27)
Of all the five fixtures in Friday’s LEC games, this has the highest potential for an upset. Schalke 04 have the talent, they just haven’t found their best rhythm yet. In five games, they are yet to win one. They will look desperately to some of their best players to end this rut.
Innaxe has been their most prolific player with just 2.67 kills. No other player, who has played more than two games, has averaged more than 1 kill. That’s how much their offense has struggled. However, there is also the factor of law of averages to consider. Excel aren’t a bad team, I just think this is evenly matched. That should mean the higher payout for Schalke 04 is a bit too tempting for even probability.
Firstly, Rogue aren’t a bad team. Not at all. They have won four of five games to start the LEC, leaving them high on confidence. However, I wonder if their roster is strong enough and experienced enough to stay abreast with the might of this Fnatic team. Fnatic had a poor two days last weekend as they moved to 3-2 for the season. Who will stay with Rekkles? Can SelfMade be stopped in time? Rekkles has a KDA of 42 while SelfMade’s is 13. Fnatic should use their depth to put away Rogue in a possibly tight encounter.
