We are continuing to follow ESL One Germany
Round 2, Day 3 is bringing us amazing matches and amazing teams to follow. NiP, OG and Alliance will have their clashes. Let’s analyze Wednesday matches and let’s make top picks.
HellRaisers @ 1.33
Both teams are pinned to the bottom of the rankings. With 0-2 scores those two teams are fighting to survive. They need a win to stay relevant for the playoffs. In this swiss style and format, the loser of this match is eliminated and is going home. HellRaisers is a much better team, and even though they are playing with a stand-in on position 5, I see them winning this match. They had close matches vs Vikin.gg and Winstrike where they managed to take a map off both teams. Tempo Esports was just not lucky with their schedule. They played Team Secret in round 1, Team Nigma in round 2 and the outcome was clear. Two clean losses brought them on the edge of elimination. Tempo is one of the weakest teams in the competition, and I do believe HellRaisers should take this match easily.
Ninjas in Pyjamas @ 1.40
Those two teams are currently holding middle of the rankings with 1 win and 1 loss. NiP have an amazing 2-0 win over 5men and a close 1-2 loss vs Alliance. On the other side, Yellow Submarine shocked us all with their play and win vs Team Nigma in the round 1. However, in the 2nd round Team Secret demonstrated real power by crushing them with a clean 2-0, as Yellow Submarine didn’t stand a chance in this match. Even though NiP have had really inconsistent results lately, they are still a few levels above Yellow Submarine. I don’t think scenario vs Nigma can happen vs NiP, as they are playing solid and quality is on their side. NiP are my favourites here and they should win that match.
OG @ 1.77
Of course, the best match must come on the end. OG and Alliance are two teams with 100% win rate for now. The winner of this match will be the first team to secure a playoff spot. OG took a win vs Vikin.gg and Winstrike, not a single map lost. On the other side Alliance had beat EXTREMUM with 2-0 and beat NiP in a 3 map series. It’s important to say that OG is playing this tournament with a full lineup, with Midone and Topson at the helm. Even if the odds are showing it’s kinda an equal match, I would give slightly more chances to OG. Yes, Nikobaby on Alliance’s side can carry the match on his signature heroes like Morphling, but vs NoTail and his crew it won’t be an easy match. There is a high potential for 3 maps here, but if you are going for the match winner, OG is my favourite.
