MAD Lions have confirmed the signing of b0RUP for an undisclosed fee
MAD Lions have secured the signing of former Heroic and HYENAS player, Johannes “b0RUP” Borup. The 21-year-old has been without a team since HYENAS disbanded following Markus “Kjaerbye” Kjaerbye’s retirement in June, but the Dane has now found a new home with the Spanish organisation.
A buy-out was required for MAD Lions to secure the signing of b0RUP, as he was still under contract with Heroic who benched him alongside Nikolaj “niko” Kristensen in February.
With b0RUP coming in, MAD Lions expand to a six-man roster. Jakub “kuben” Gurczynski, the team’s coach, spoke about their latest addition in a statement on HLTV.org:
“From the beginning of this project, in the back of our heads we had a plan to bring an experienced player to the team who could complete it. With b0RUP, we believed to have found the perfect fit for that.”
MAD Lions currently reside outside of the Top 30, but they believe that the addition of some Danish dynamite will be enough to break into the top flight;
“At the start of this season, the role of IGL was taken over by TMB, hence our idea to bring a second high-profile Danish player to the squad to get a similar philosophy of the way we can play the game. We believe that by combining the experience that b0RUP will bring to the team and the youth’s hunger for success, we will improve our results from the previous few months.”
With the addition of b0RUP, MAD Lions will field the following roster:
