The LPL resumes on Tuesday with another two-match schedule. We pick out some prop bets for you to consider on Picklebet.
Map handicap: Oh My God +1.5 (2.24)
Rare Atom were a middling team in the spring season of the LPL last year, producing 10 wins in 16 matches. Oh My God struggled right from the outset and eventually finished 15th with a 3-13 match record. The difference in form and confidence between these two teams is probably why the odds are skewed so heavily in favour of Rare Atom in this match. Is that fair? On paper, yes. However, there is a decent map record for OMG: they won 11 maps last season. Oh My God might not win but they could take a map off Rare Atom in this fixture.
For starters, using eight players in the regular season of a split is not ideal. Oh My God were heavily reliant on Aki and Cold for some solidity through that spring campaign. However, it was Eric that led the offensive production for the team with 3.62 kills and 3.86 assists per game. He also led the KDA with 2.72. That, in part, was the reason for OMG’s struggles in spring. They will need a lot more at the start of summer to be competitive.
Total maps: Under 2.5 (1.43)
Edward Gaming finished the spring season with aplomb. They finished second with a 13-3 season record, terrific by any measure in League of Legends in China. They are one of the best teams even in summer, and should stake a claim for a deep run into the playoffs. To start off, they will face a team almost always stuck in the mire of the LPL’s mid-table. That’s not a bad thing because that’s probably all they can muster given their available resources. However, that won’t be enough against a quality team like Edward Gaming. I’m going for a comfortable straight-maps victory for Edward Gaming to open the split.
Viper was outstanding in the LPL’s spring season. He averaged 5.25 kills and 4.75 assists for a kill participation of 10. Jiejie, who had the best KDA of Edward Gaming in spring, also chipped in with a kill participation of over 10.
