Get hyped because OGA Dota Pit is starting this Tuesday. After EPIC League ended this weekend, OGA Dota Pit Season 4 EU/CIS will be the hottest and the best Europeand Dota 2 tournament.

Season 3 Short Review

OGA Dota Pit EU/CIS Season 3 was won by Team Secret. That tournament was part of their famous 7 tournament win streak with which they’ve made history as the best European Dota 2 team in 2020. Secret won 1st place by beating VP.Prodigy 3-0 in the grand finals of the event. Interestingly enough they’ve made another grand final clean sweep to win the $70,873 prize. On the way, Secret lost only 1 map in the whole tournament. And that map was lost vs VP.Prodigy in round 1 of the upper bracket. OGA Dota PIT S3: Europe/CIS was Secret’s 7th tournament vicotry in a row. 7 tournaments wins, 7 grand finals, 7 3-0 clean sweeps in grand finals. What a great era of domination. However, that was Secret’s last tournament that they’ve won this year and they’ve played 2 more after this.

Season 4 Info

New season, same rules. One Game Agency returns with season 4 of OGA Dota PIT EU/CIS, where eight teams across Europe and CIS compete for the $150,000 prize pool. 8 directly invited teams will play in the double elimination bracket. All matches except grand finals are best of 3, while grand finals will be played as best of 5 series.

The 8 directly invited teams are:

  • OG
  • Team Nigma
  • Mudgolems
  • Just Error
  • VirtusPro
  • Natus Vincere
  • Alliance

Since there will not be Team Secret this season, some other teams will be in the spotlight. All of those 8 teams are coming from EPIC League, some from Division 1 and some from Division 2, so this Dota Pit tournament is set to be extremely competitive and high quality.

Big Bets

Virtus.Pro & OG

The young CIS squad Virtus.Pro and European masters, 2x The International champions, OG just played in the EPIC League Division 1 grand finals. In the most competitive tournament of the year, they’ve managed to get to the grand finals which is an impressive result. Virtus.Pro showed that they are one of the best young, new Dota 2 squads in the EU/CIS and they are already leaving their mark. By winning EPIC League Division 1 over OG in a close 3-2 series, they’ve shown that they are currently the strongest team in Europe. Those two teams are my favourites to take Dota Pit, while Virtus.Pro is leading on the favourite board.

Natus Vincere

Finishing top 2 in the ESL One Germany 2020 and top 6 in the EPIC League Division 1 made them one of the top 2 best teams from CIS region. They can surely go far in this tournament. Sadly in the EPIC League they’ve crossed their paths with OG who were really unstoppable. I would say they are the top 4 of my favourites in this one.

Let us tell you’s result in the last months. 1st place at BTS Pro Series Season 3: Europe/CIS, 1st place at DOTA Summit 13 Online: Europe & CIS, they ended up on 2nd place in group stage of EPIC League, finishing at 3rd place in the end. That is a really impressive result if we check the list of participating teams. are one of the teams that can surprise anyone today and they can go really far in this tournament. They are closing my top 4 favourites for this tournament for sure.

Team Nigma

You can never count out Nigma, especially now with their captain Kuroky being back to the 1st lineup. Even though they’ve dropped off early in the playoff stage of EPIC League, they did show decent performance in the group stages. They are surely one of those teams when in a good form, conquering Europe is not a problem. I don’t think their current form and play is enough to win this tournament, but you never know with them.

Alliance are current EPIC League Division 2 champions. Even though the competition was not so big in the Division 2 compared to Division 1, claiming another title for them was crucial to get back some confidence that they needed. They are really a decent team, and with players like NikoBaby, they are surely made to compete with everyone in Europe. However, I don’t see them do anything significant in this tournament. There are much stronger teams out there at the moment. Alliance can shock, but they can’t win this tournament next to teams like OG and Virtus.Pro.

Mudgolems & Just Error

Definitely the two weakest teams in this competition. Mudgolems without their best player BoraNija can hardly do a thing here. They are just in shambles and I think they are not far away from disbanding. Obviously something in the squad is not right, I wonder if they can continue to play like that. There are not a shadow of the team that they used to be a month ago. On the other side, Just Error is one of the strongest teams on the paper here, but they are not delivering. By sacking Sumail and bringing Resolution instead of him, they tried to fix some things, but still were unsuccessful. If you want to bet on underdog on this tournament, that should be Just Error. Ex Virtus.Pro colleagues can shock everyone, but watching them in EPIC League finish last in the group stage, I don’t believe they can fix their play so fast.
