The playoffs of the LCS begins this weekend with two matches. Cloud9 face 100 Thieves while TSM and Team Liquid will look to break their regular-season record tie. Here is a look at the teams to back on Picklebet from the weekend’s games.
Team Liquid (1.46)
If this was a best-of-one encounter, then the odds for Liquid would have been higher because a weaker team has a higher chance in a shorter game. In the playoffs of the LCS, though, that changes drastically, particularly in a best-of-five match. Liquid finished the spring split at third on the points table with a 12-6 record. They ended with three successive wins as well. TSM lost too many players during the offseason. Even though they finished second this season, Liquid just seem to have most bases covered, including the important one in Summoner’s Rift.
Tactical and Alphari were the standout performers for Liquid this season. They managed 3.67 kills and 3.5 kills respectively per map. Alphari finished with a stellar KDA of 6.15, built on 1.5 deaths and a high assist rate. They have been ably supported by the likes of Jensen and Santorin. Both of them have a KDA of over 5.5, which is an indicator of their all-round contributions.
After a somewhat surprising finish to 2020, Cloud9 have returned to their best in this spring split. They finished the regular season at the top of the table with a 13-5 record. They won two straight matches to finish the league. Even though 100 Thieves had an above-par season, which saw them finish at fourth with an 11-7 record, Cloud9 are far too strong. Cloud9 have been one of the most dominant team in the lanes in the world for a while now, and that isn’t going to change in the pressure of a playoffs encounter.
Zven and Perkz have continued to be one of the best bot-mid laner combinations in the world. This season has not surprised many. They have averaged 4.28 and 4.44 kills per game respectively this season. Cloud9 have received more support from Blaber in the jungle, who finished with astounding numbers of 3.78 kills, 2.22 deaths and 7.61 assists per game at a KDA of 5.13.
