We break down the two semi-finals matchups at the IEM Global Challenge.
NaVi Map 2 (1.93)
NaVi has always been a tough nut to crack for Astralis, who have lost five out seven matches against them this year. The Danes got the better of NaVi the last time the two met, but I like NaVi’s chances of grabbing at least a map here. With the exception of their last game at BLAST, they have managed to win at least a map in every single series they have played against Astralis.
Liquid Map 2 (1.89)
These two teams have never faced each other, so it is hard to know exactly what to expect. Both teams perma-ban Train, and this will likely favour BIG who should ban last as the higher ranked team. However, the question is if it is really that much of an advantage. Liquid should pick either Overpass or Inferno, whichever one BIG doesn’t ban, and they will have a good shot on either of the two maps. BIG have failed to get more than 7 rounds in matches against both Vitality and mousesports on Inferno recently, and Overpass is a map that they rarely play.
