DreamHack Open: NiP vs. ENCE

NiP ML (1.68)

NiP are coming off a loss to Sprout in the opener and will now take on ENCE who fell at the hands of North in their first match of the tournament. ENCE and NiP have really struggled as of late and their recent match history is just a sea of red. ENCE are without Jamppi for this one which certainly won’t help them in this match. NiP, on the other hand, finally have nawwk back on the main roster which will be a big boost for them. NiP tend to struggle against strong Dust2 and Nuke teams, but ENCE is neither of these two things which will be a refreshing change of pace for them. I suspect that ENCE will go for the Train pick in this one, and this is a map that NiP have improved drastically on since hampus joined the team. NiP will likely go for the Overpass or Inferno pick and they will be a big favourite on either of these two maps.

DreamHack Open: FaZe vs. sAw

FaZe -1.5 (1.72)

It is hard to trust FaZe, but they could not have asked for a better opponent than sAw. The Portuguese side is coming off a loss to GODSENT, a match in which they threw away a 12-3 lead to lose on Nuke. This just can’t be good for their mental game heading into this match against FaZe. I would expect both teams to ban their opponent’s strongest map picks in this series, with sAw banning Mirage and FaZe banning Vertigo. This will favour FaZe, in my opinion. They won’t be afraid to play sAw on a map like Dust2 and their Nuke game is definitely stronger. With this in mind, the 2-0 sweep is very likely.
