adreN comes in to replace Moses as the coach of Team Liquid's CS:GO team
Liquid have switched things up a bit with a change in the coaching position. Eric “adreN” Hoag comes in to replace Jason “moses” O’Toole as the coach of the team. This isn’t the first time that adreN has been the helm of Liquid, having been part of the organisation on two occasions in the past.
Liquid will hope that a change in personnel will get them back to title winning ways after a titleless run so far this year. With adreN Having coached the team at the peak of their performance in 2019, the Liquid management believes that he is the right man to bring them back to their former glory.
“You don’t always know what you have until you don’t, and I think that is the case with regards to Eric,” said Victor Goossens, co-CEO of Liquid. “What he brought to the team strategically was just incredible. Now that we have the roster that we have today, we feel strongly that Eric is the coach for us to take us to the next level.”
In a recent statement, adreN spoke about what his expectations are for his third tenure with the North American organisation;
“My expectations this time joining Liquid are going to be a little bit different than when I joined in 2019,” adreN explained. “In 2019 the team was coming off a lot of success already and a great 2018 year, and coming into that team I was expecting us to be the best. This time around, the landscape in CS is a little bit different. The goal is the same as always, but I think it’s going to be a lot harder this time to establish that №1 spot.”
Liquid aren’t scheduled for play until the cs_summit 8 event on May 20th, so adreN will have some time to get his team up to speed. With Valve’s recent decision to remove Train from the map pool, adreN and his team have a good chance to build a strong map pool as Train was previously their perma-ban.
With the addition of adreN, Liquid are now:
