Guild Esports have acquired the services of analyst and esports historian Duncan "Thorin" Shields.
In an announcement on Twitter, Duncan “Thorin” Shields, known for his work as an analyst and content creator, has announced that he is entering a partnership with Guild Esports as a consultant for their CS:GO division. The organization, which currently has teams in Valorant, Rocket League and FIFA, is a publicly-traded company formed in 2019 and is co-owned by the former footballer David Beckham.
“I will help Guild develop their model for building the team and advise on players and staff I think appropriate to aid them in establishing themselves as a significant force in this part of the industry,” Thorin explained in an announcement on Twitter.
“As we move to a phase more closely resembling a traditional sports structure with proper coaching staff it is only logical that General Managers build teams to their vision with the help and expertise of those who know the scene and the players they will select from.”
CS:GO will be the second first-person shooter game that Guild Esports adds to their ranks after having recently picked up a Valorant team spearheaded by the former CS:GO player William “draken” Sundin (fnatic, NiP). One can only hope that the CS:GO announcement will be as epic as the one that they did for Valorant.
