Guangzhou Charge v Chengdu Hunters

Guangzhou Charge (1.31)

Guangzhou Charge have been in some solid form over the last few weeks in the Overwatch League. In fact, they have won their last three games, including victories against Seoul Dynasty and third-placed New York Excelsior. That run of good form has carried them to third in the standings with seven wins in 13 games.

Another strong reason for backing Guangzhou has been Chengdu’s apparent and discernible lack of form. They have lost their last five games on the bounce to spiral dramatically to 17th in the standings. In 12 matches, they have won just three. If this was a best of 1, or even 3, there might have been a case to consider the upset but in a best-of-five encounter, the more skilled team should come through.

Hangzhou Spark v London Spitfire

Hangzhou Spark (2.21)

Are there enough reasons to back London Spitfire? Not really. They have won four of six games so far before losing last week to 3-1 to Guangzhou Charge. They started the season with two straight losses as well. These aren’t compelling enough to back London.

Hangzhou, on the other hand, have won five games this season. They have won two of their last three games so confidence isn’t a massive worry for them. They have won just 18 of 41 rounds, which isn’t great but they’ve played some terrific teams in this period as well. Also, there is the consideration of the larger payout. Odds of 2.21 are fantastic for a game that is rather evenly matched.

Dallas Fuel v Paris Eternal

Paris Eternal (1.52)

The higher odds on Dallas Fuel is tempting but the degree of difference between these two teams is quite stark. Paris Eternal have climbed to the top half of the Overwatch standings on account of having won six games this season. They broke a three-game losing streak with a 3-1 win against Los Angeles Gladiators last week.

Paris also have records of over 0.500 in rounds played as well as games won. In 11 games, they have won six and lost five, and have also won 23 of 44 games. Dallas have a losing record so far, which is likely to continue. They have won just four of nine matches to date.
