The Overwatch League continues this Saturday with three matches. All of these games have a clear favourite. Back the dominant team or the underdog? We take a look.
Seoul Dynasty (1.24)
Seoul Dynasty have started their Overwatch campaign in sprightly form, winning both their first two matches without dropping a map, against Los Angeles Valiant and Los Angeles Gladiators. They are currently 15th in the Overwatch standings but that’s primarily because they’ve just played the two matches. Their confidence and form will be very high after putting away both Los Angeles teams in dominant fashion.
On the other hand, Hangzhou Spark have some immediate concerns to address. Firstly, they have lost three of their last four games as they have fallen to 14th in the standings. The manner of those defeats will bother them as they managed to pick up just one map out of a total of 10.
Shanghai Dragons (1.19)
Shanghai Dragons have been one of the best teams in the Overwatch League this season. Their strong from has seen them win their last five matches on the bounce. They have propelled themselves to second in the standings with a 6-1 record. Of the total 22 maps they’ve played, they have won 18 of them. Their last three victories have been easy 3-0 wins.
Guangzhou Charge aren’t a bad team, but the question is do they have the skill and ability to compete against this Shanghai Dragons team. My guess would be no. They have split their eight matches to date, with a 4-4 series record.
New York Excelsior (1.24)
Another mismatch in this Saturday’s Overwatch fixtures. New York Excelsior have been quite terrific this season as is evidenced from their third position in the standings. They have won 5 of 6 matches so far, their only loss coming against the Overwatch leaders Philadelphia Fusion 3-1. In their previous three wins, they have needed just the one extra map (against Washington Justice last week). Chengdu Hunters have some serious problems. They are languishing at 13th spot with just three wins this season.
