With the Season 1 champions, Team Secret and the runners up, Team Liquid, both on a well-deserved vacation, the OGA Dota PIT Season 2 is set to witness a new force emerging. The event will kick off on the 27th of July with a double elimination bracket, best of three series, and will conclude on the 30th of the month with a best-of-five grand final. It will mark the debut for the revamped Natus Vincere roster and will also be the first tournament for Ninjas in Pyjamas without their captain, Akbar ‘SoNNeikO’ Butaev, who announced his departure from the team.

You don’t need to miss a second of the action with our viewer’s guide, featuring the OGA Dota PIT Season 2 Europe/CIS schedule, how to watch, prize pool, teams, and format.

About OGA Dota PIT Season 2

There are three regional tournaments for OGA Dota PIT Season 2, with the Chinese tournament already completed. In the Chinese region, CDEC Gaming surprised fans by taking down Chinese giants Vici Gaming 3-2 in a thrilling grand final.

The Americas regional tournament is entering its final stages, with the grand finals set to take place on 21st July. The Chinese regional tournament featured a prize pool of $90,000, while the Americas regional tournament features a prize pool of only $25,000.

However, the OGA Dota PIT Season 2 Europe/CIS tournament is by far the biggest, featuring a huge prize pool, and some of the top teams in the region.

Prize Pool

The OGA Dota PIT Season 2 Europe/CIS tournament is by far the biggest in terms of prize pool. There’s a total of $170,000 up for grabs.

The prize pool distribution is as follows:

  • $36,822
  • $19,822
  • $14,161
  • $8,500
  • $8,500
  • $5,661
  • $5,661

As you can see, every team in the tournament will get a piece of the prize pool, with the winner taking home the lion’s share.

Teams

There will be eight teams competing in the OGA Dota PIT Season 2 Europe / CIS tournament, just like with the China and Americas tournaments. All eight teams have been directly invited, and they are some of the top teams in the region, including the two-time TI winners, OG.

With OG having had a bit of a rest, and with a full squad, we might see the two-time TI winners claim the OGA Dota PIT Season 2 Europe/CIS championship. This is, of course, because the dominating Team Secret isn’t there. However, seven big-name teams stand in their way.

OGA Dota PIT Season 2 Europe/CIS teams:

  • VP.Prodigy
  • Natus Vincere
  • Alliance
  • Ninjas in Pyjamas
  • OG
  • Vikin.GG
  • Nigma
  • FlyToMoon

While OG, VP.Prodigy and Nigma might be slight favourites, any one of these teams could win the lion’s share of the prize pool.

Format

The OGA Dota PIT Season 2 Europe/CIS tournament follows a format we are all used to. There are no group stages in this one, but there’s a double-elimination bracket. At the time of writing, matchups have not been revealed.

All matches are best-of-three, with the exception of the grand final, which is a best-of-five affair, and will surely be a slugfest between the top two teams.

Schedule

The OGA Dota PIT Season 2 Europe/CIS tournament is scheduled to kick off on 27th July and will run until 30th July 2020. Expect the tournament times to be decent for those watching from Europe.
