Official: junior joins FURIA

FURIA have announced the signing of Paytyn "junior" Johnson from Triumph

FURIA have officially announced the signing of the former Triumph player, Paytyn “junior” Johnson. The American AWPer comes in to replace Henrique “HEN1” Teles, who was recently benched from FURIA following his request to reunite with his brother, Lucas “LUCAS1” Teles, on a new team featuring the former MIBR players.

junior has impressed during his time on Triumph, where he was the team’s leading fragger, posting 0.72 kills/round and an overall rating of 1.12. He played an instrumental role in taking Triumph to the grand final of IEM Bejing-Haidan, a tournament in which they defeated Team Liquid in the semi-finals, with junior being the clear standout on the server with 92.2 ADR and an overall rating of 1.36.

Despite the announcement, junior won’t make his debut at the BLAST Global Final due to passport issues. Instead, FURIA are expected to announce a sixth player on Thursday, who will play instead of junior at the aforementioned tournament.
