NiP have now confirmed the signing of former Complexity and Astralis player, Patrick “es3tag” Hansen. The Dane comes in to replace Linus “LNZ” Holtäng, who has been demoted to NiP’s academy team after six months with the senior squad.

After being eliminated in front of their home fans at the Stockholm major, a roster moved felt inevitable for the Swedish side. With few suitable names available in Sweden, NiP turned to Denmark for talent.

“I think it was quite a natural choice, if you look at Swedish players, there are not so many that play into that role who are still actively playing so to say. I felt like we had to look outside of the country to find exactly what we needed.” device said in an interview with

As for the language barrier; the likes of es3tag and device have clarified that the plan is to continue speaking Swedish.

“I’m absolutely thrilled to be back at the absolute forefront of competitive CS:GO - to play with world-class proven individuals, with whom I can create a legacy,” es3tag said in a statement on NiP’s website. “With backing from an organization like NIP I’m confident that everything surrounding the squad is primed so we can reach the pinnacle of CS:GO. And yes I speak Swedish.”

es3tag will make his debut for NiP at the BLAST Fall Finals on November 24th, where they are set to go up against es3tag’s former team; Astralis.

With the addition of es3tag, NiP will now field the following five:
