Here is a look at the bets to consider from Thursday’s NEST action, which includes a delectable match between Invictus Gaming and Royal Never Give Up.
Map handicap: Team WE -1.5 (1.77)
Team WE have been a terrific team for a while now. That was evident in a steady summer split in China’s LPL. In 43 regular-season maps, Team WE managed to win 24 of them. That’s a fairly commendable win rate in a competitive league like the LPL. Oh My God, on the other hand, struggled right from the outset. There was roster fluidity through the regular season: they used eight players in the summer split. In 41 maps, OMG won just 15 of them. Those concerns are too deep to fix so soon.
Team WE will continue to rely on Jiumeng for offensive production. He had 4.53 kills per game, leading Team WE in kills in summer. Teacherma was quite steady in the middle lane, chipping in with 3.12 kills, while beishang was sensational in the jungle. In fact, his flanking game was hard to match for other junglers in the LPL. He averaged 3.09 kills and 7 assists. He even had the best KDA in his team (5.23).
Invictus Gaming (2.03)
Invictus Gaming ended the spring split of the LPL in underwhelming fashion. Then, they made a slow start to the summer season. Then, the tables turned again as they finished summer with aplomb. In a total of 41 maps, Invictus Gaming won 26. RNG aren’t a bad team at all, but there have been a few personnel changes. Even though LPL games don’t last as long as other leagues, this could be a matchup that goes the distance. In the end, I’d back the recent momentum of Invictus to carry them through.
Puff has been the standout player for Invictus Gaming this year. That’s not just in the spring split, but in summer as well. He had 4.44 kills per map in summer in 41 games, comfortably leading the production for his team. He will be the player RNG have to repeatedly break in the bottom lane to beat Invictus.
