The National Electronic Sports Tournament continues on Wednesday with two more games, including the Worlds runner-up in Suning Gaming. We take a look at some bets to consider from Wednesday’s games.
Suning Gaming (2.75)
Why are the odds for Suning so high? They are coming into this game on the back of a spectacular run at the LoL World Championships last month. They finished as runners-up, losing only to the might and consistency of Damwon Gaming in the final. Before the Worlds tournament, Suning also had a terrific summer split in which they won 25 of 42 maps in the regular season. Bilibili Gaming have got some additional time to rest up, which is one factor in their corner. However, the confidence and momentum of Suning might be too much for Bilibili.
Suning relied on a strong trio of players – huanfeng, Angel and Bin – for their offensive production at Worlds. While huanfeng led with an average of four kills per game, Bin wasn’t far behind, with 3.89 kills per map. Angel chipped in with 3.37 kills as well. Suning have stuck with their core players, and that approach has reaped rich rewards as this year has progressed. That strategy is unlikely to change moving forward either.
Funplus Phoenix (1.39)
Funplus Phoenix had quite a solid season in the summer split. In the regular season, they won 22 of 41 maps. In a competitive league like the LPL, that isn’t too bad. Estar Gaming, on the other hand, struggled from the outset. They won just 13 of 40 maps, unable to find any consistency or momentum right through. Even though there was roster fluidity in the Funplus Phoenix roster due to the coronavirus, they managed to stay quite solid.
Doinb and Lwx have been a terrific combination in the middle and bottom lane of Summoner’s Rift. Lwx led the production for Funplus in the summer split, averaging a solid 3.66 kills per map. He even had the best KDA in the team (4.54). Doinb was the only other player in Funplus to have a KDA of over 4, primarily due to a steady kill rate of 3.51 per game. Funplus will continue to depend on these two to lead them through the lanes and into the Estar base.
