Royal Never Give Up (1.12)
PSG Talon enjoyed a terrific run in the Rumble stage of the MSI, winning six of 10 matches to finish third and set up the clash with second-placed RNG. Despite affecting several upsets, they will find this a much harder clash. For one, this will be a best-of-five map encounter. Even if PSG Talon can create enough lane destruction, they will have to do it in three separate maps. RNG have proved themselves as one of the best teams in the world with consistency over the last few months, including the recently-concluded spring split of the LPL.
No surprises that Gala has led the offensive production for RNG in this competition. He has managed 5.67 kills along with 5.33 assists per game at a KDA of 6 and a creep score of over 280. These are fantastic numbers, by any point of comparison. Wei and Xiaohu have averaged 3.78 kills per map while Cryin has been slightly better, with 3.82 kills per map. PSG Talon will find stopping these three players incredibly hard.
Map handicap: DWG Kia -2.5 (2.11)
DWG Kia are just an outstanding team. They won the World Championships last year and then made a mark in the spring split of the LCK. Now, they have eased their way to the knockouts of the MSI. In Rumble, they led the group with eight wins in 10 games. There was hardly any doubt whether they would be able to achieve that. Mad Lions are a solid team but they will need to bring all their offensive power to breach the DWG Kia defensive fortress. I can’t see that happening, which is why I’d back them to win without dropping a map.
DWG Kia’s bot laner Ghost has been typically solid, putting up 4.63 kills with 4.44 assists per game. ShowMaker has led the KDA for DWG Kia with stability in the middle lane. He has generated 3.56 kills along with 6.25 assists per game at a stellar KDA of 8.72.
