FunPlus Phoenix vs Edward Gaming

FunPlus Phoenix (1.35)

FunPlus Phoenix have been in stunning form in the playoffs of the summer season. They have won both their playoffs matches so far: 3-0 against LNG Esports and the same scoreline against Team WE. They were absolutely dominant in the regular season of the summer split, with a 13-3 record. They finished that regular season with eight straight wins. So, they have not lost a match in their last 11 attempts.

That will be confidence as well as momentum for FunPlus against Edward Gaming in the winner-takes-all season finale. Edward Gaming have enjoyed a solid season as well, having finished second in the summer split with a 12-4 season record. However, it seems like FunPlus Phoenix will have the edge in several factors, including form and offensive firepower.

Personnel

Doinb has been in terrific form through this split. In the regular season, he managed 4.79 kills, 1.79 deaths and 6.67 assists with a KDA of 6.39. He leads FunPlus in both kills per game as well as KDA. Lwx and Tian have also been strong support for Doinb. Both players averaged over three kills per game. But the standout support performer was Nuguri, with 3.5 kills and 4.92 assists per map. He also has a creep score of over 250, making him an all-round performer which isn’t easy considering his position.

Total maps: Over 3.5 (1.42)

While FunPlus Phoenix are expected to dominate this matchup, they won’t be dominant through the contest because Edward Gaming are no pushovers. Edward Gaming have enough firepower in the lanes in order to win one key team fight. Scout and Viper will be key figures in those lane fights, which should be enough for Edward Gaming to win a map. That crucial team fight will also be more than enough to take the total over 3.5 maps. It might stop at four maps though because I’d back FunPlus Phoenix to win this final 3-1.
