Fredit Brion v DWG Kia

Map handicap: DWG Kia -1.5 (1.42)

There’s a reason DWG Kia are at the top of the LCK standings. They are simply a terrific team, capable of beating any team in the world as was evidenced when they won the World Championships in 2020. They are now 12-1 in spring and are also on a 10-match winning streak. This level of quality and form is unprecedented in competitive leagues like the LCK. Fredit Brion, with due respect, are a solid team but don’t have the firepower to stay abreast with DWG in any area, including lane domination and team fights. This should be a routine 2-0 win for the world champions.

Personnel

Ghost has been DWG Kia’s most prolific player, averaging a stunning 4.9 kills per game along with 5.71 assists at a stellar KDA of 6.09. He has been thoroughly dominant this season, from a kill participation standpoint. He has been ably complemented by ShowMaker and Canyon, who have averaged over 3.5 kills each per map.

Afreeca Freecs v Hanwha Life Esports

Total maps: Over 2.5 (2.06)

It’s understandable why Hanwha Life Esports are favourites in this match. They have had a steady season to date, with an 8-5 match record. They are now fourth on the LCK standings. However, the slower pace of play gives teams like Afreeca Freecs an opportunity because they can come back into the map even if they lose early team fights. Hanwha Life should still win this on account of the team’s superior depth, but it won’t be overly simple. Afreeca Freecs will compete and challenge, and possibly even win a map.

Personnel

Bang and Dread have been Afreeca Freecs’ most potent offensive weapons this season so far. They have averaged 3.52 and 3.71 kills respectively per game, which isn’t bad at all. Even though there isn’t much more from the rest of the roster, there is enough here to suggest that Afreeca will be tough to get past in at least one map.
