TT Gaming v Top Esports

Map handicap: Top Esports -1.5 (1.29)

Top Esports will not be pleased with losing their opening match of the summer split. They were beaten by a solid team but there is a discernible difference in quality between Top and TT Gaming in this fixture. TT Gaming have started summer with two losses, which will not hold them in good stead for this game against one of the most explosive teams in the world. Top Esports will be eager to return to winning ways and prevent a slow start, like in the spring split of the LPL earlier this year. To do that, they would like to start with cruising past TT Gaming.

Personnel

Knight immediately found his offensive best, putting up five kills on average in the opening defeat. He had a KDA of 2.6 to lead the team. He will now require a bit of consistency from the rest of his team, including JackeyLove in the bottom lane. That will be imperative to the success of the Top Esports team right through the season.

LNG Esports v FunPlus Phoenix

Map handicap: FunPlus Phoenix -1.5 (1.94)

Is anyone surprised that FunPlus Phoenix have won both their matches of the summer split so far? Wouldn’t think so. They have been so consistent right through the last few splits in the LPL. They have lost a map but have also won four to begin summer. LNG Esports have begun with three straight wins, which will provide plenty of much-needed confidence, but I can’t see them matching up well with FunPlus in the lanes, particularly in the middle and bottom lanes. If FunPlus race away to soul point early on in this matchup, there will be trouble for LNG Esports in attempting to stay abreast with them as the match progresses. Moreover, the odds for FunPlus to win without dropping a map is certainly compelling.

Personnel

Just like they have done through 2020 and the first half of 2021, Lwx and Doinb have almost mirrored each other, in terms of output in the last few splits. Lwx and Doinb both have three kills per map apiece so far but have also received able support from Nuguri, who is averaging 5.6 kills per game.
