Top Esports will look to maintain their dominance at the start of the summer split of the LPL, while LGD Gaming will seek consistency. How will they fare on Tuesday? We take a look at the two games with predictions below.
Total maps: Over 2.5 (2.55)
The reason the odds for this market is so high is because Dominus Esports have not really begun their season just yet. They have lost both their series without winning a map, which has proved to be a serious problem for their form and confidence. However, they aren’t that bad a team. I don’t see them winning this match but I can see Dominus putting in a performance that earns them one map win. LGD Gaming have started this split well but there is always the chance of an upset in one map in a best-of-three game.
Helper has been a decent ADC for Dominus Esports, averaging 2.5 kills along with 4.5 assists per game. He hasn’t been as good as some of his peers in the LPL and he needs to kickstart his season to turn this around for Dominus. Xiaopeng has been Dominus’ most prolific offensive player, averaging 2.75 kills per game. Dominus will also need the rest of their roster to stand up to have a chance against LGD Gaming.
Map handicap: Top Esports -1.5 (1.31)
Top Esports have begun this season in some unbelievable form. They have stormed past both their opponents in this split so far. On Sunday, they breezed past JD Gaming in under an hour of play. Both maps lasted under 30 minutes apiece. Top Esports are also coming into this split on the back of a win in the Mid-Season Cup. This exemplary form will be hard to match for the best teams in China. Oh My God, with due respect to them, isn’t even close to that level of gameplay. This should be a comfortable 2-0 win, potentially carrying Top Esports to the top of the LPL table.
JackeyLove returned to the starting five for Top Esports on Sunday. He started off with 15 kills and 12 assists in two maps against JD Gaming. His sterling start should bode well for Top Esports. And it isn’t even like they were desperate for that level of production. Mid laner Knight has done his part. He leads the LPL in kills with an average of 8.25 kills a game.
