The LPL continues on Monday with two in-form teams in action. Do the underdogs have a chance or will the favourites cruise through? We take a look below with some predictions from the two games.
Estar have split their two series to date. They have won three maps and have lost two. That’s not a bad start for a team that has lost one of their stars from the spring split. Cryin moved away from Estar to Royal Never Give Up, opening up the mid-laner slot, which has now been nicely filled by Fenfen. Estar, on the face of it, seem like they are too strong on paper for Bilibili Gaming, who have lost both their series without winning even one map. That difference in confidence could play a part as well.
Estar have been aided by Fenfen finding his feet quickly to start the summer split. He has averaged 5 kills per game in 5 games, leading Estar in killing production. Wink, Estar’s AD Carry, has continued where he left off from the spring season. He has averaged 3.4 kills a game this split. Jungler Wei has been decent too, adding 2.6 kills and 7.2 assists, carrying his kill participation rate close to 10. These three players will form the core of Estar’s offensive game.
Team WE (1.57)
Despite going up against a quality opponent in Vici Gaming, I’m backing Team WE here because of their depth of resources. They have struggled a touch with consistency, which has been their stumbling block in their bid to be a regular feature in the LPL’s top four. They have started this season in sprightly form, having won two of three series. In terms of maps, they have won five of eight. Vici Gaming opened the season with a 2-0 thrashing of Bilibili Gaming but they were beaten 2-0 in their previous series.
Team WE have depended on their strong offensive core of Jiumeng, Beishang and Teacherama. Jiumeng has led the killing production with 4.88 kills while Teacherama has added 4 kills a game. Along with Beishang’s 3.13 kills, this trio has been extremely hard to stop. I’d expect at least two of these three to continue their offensive momentum and carry Team WE to their third series win of the season.
