Team WE and Invictus Gaming will look to continue from where they left off in the opening game. Will they? Here are some predictions for their respective games on Wednesday.
Team WE (1.37)
Victory Five had a stunning summer split after an appalling spring campaign in 2020. That was the tale of the tape in a sentence for V5. They will perform again this season, but there is a massive gulf in the level of skill between these two teams here. Team WE started the season with a 2-0 win. That confidence and momentum will hold them in good stead for this game. This might go to three maps but I’d back Team WE to win even if it goes there.
There were a few roster changes in the previous game for Team WE. However, they continued to rely on their stars. Jiumeng put up 14 kills and 9 assists in the two maps there. Beishang had a terrific game in the top lane, averaging 1.5 kills, 1 death and 8.5 assists to earn a team-leading KDA of 10. Breathe chipped in with 10 total kills and 4 assists with a KDA of 4.67.
Map handicap: Invictus Gaming -1.5 (1.64)
Invictus Gaming started their season in typically spirited fashion, winning without dropping a map. They have been one of the most consistent teams in the LPL for a while now. Even though they lost more games than they should have, their performances were right up there, often taking the game to tier-2 turrets. LNG Esports, on the other hand, did not have a great summer split in 2020. That might impact their confidence going into this game. On the whole, I’d back the might of Invictus Gaming to win in two maps.
Wink started as the primary bot laner in the previous game, and provided an immediate impact with 7 kills, no deaths and 17 assists. Rookie had 11 kills, no deaths and 22 assists in that game. Their new-look roster has a lot going for them from a firepower point of view, especially in the lanes.
