The LPL resumes on Tuesday with league leaders Edward Gaming in action along with league favourites Top Esports searching for their fourth win of the season. Here are some predictions from Tuesday’s games.
Edward Gaming (1.21)
Edward Gaming have been in sparkling form right through this spring split. So much so, in fact, that they are at the top of the LPL table with a 7-0 record. They have lost only two maps so far this season. It’s difficult to find factors that could justify backing the underdog in this fixture. Bilibili Gaming have been decent, winning four of eight matches. But they are ninth in the LPL table, without the same level of firepower and consistency as their next opponents. The case for Edward Gaming is just too strong.
Viper has been in sensational offensive rhythm this season: he has averaged 5.63 kills, 1.75 deaths and 4.56 assists per game to rack up a KDA of 5.82. He also has a team-leading creep score of 352.19. Scout also has a kill participation rate of close to 10 (3.69 kills and 6.25 assists per map). Meiko is leading the team in assists with 9.31 per game.
Map handicap: Top Esports -1.5 (1.80)
Top Esports have been the most surprising team this season. They have lost three matches out of six, which puts them at a lowly 11th in the LPL table. That will certainly change as this split progresses. That mid-season break of a fortnight would have helped the team rejuvenate after a topsy-turvy start. Top Esports have been one of the most consistent teams in the LPL for a while now. That is unlikely to change by the time this season ends. I’m backing the might of Top Esports to come through LNG without dropping a map.
JackeyLove and Knight have done their bit so far this season, but they haven’t quite had the same level of help. JackeyLove is still leading Top in kills (5.77 per game along with 5.77 assists). Knight has the best KDA in the team (5.48), built on 3.85 kills along with 5.85 assists per map with a low death rate of 1.77. Karsa and 369 will have to lift their game though.
