The LPL resumes on Sunday with two more games, including the highly-anticipated match between JD Gaming and Invictus Gaming. Here is a look at some predictions for Sunday’s games.
Team WE (1.25)
Team WE will enter this season’s spring split on the back of some impressive form at the World Championships late in 2020. They have been one of the most consistent mid-table teams in the LPL for a while now, and that is expected to continue well into this year too. More importantly, Rogue Warriors haven’t added significant strength to bolster their roster after a poor 2020, especially in summer. They will continue to have a sub-par year, which should start with a two or three-map loss to Team WE.
Team WE’s all-China roster will be led by Jiumeng, who has been the team’s leading offensive weapon with his prowess in the bottom lane. Teacherma and beishang will aim to continue their impressive run from the summer split last year. Overall, there is enough depth in Team WE to sustain excellence throughout Summoner’s Rift. They should be a tad too strong for Rogue Warriors here.
Total maps: Over 2.5 (1.90)
These are two excellent teams. I’d say JD Gaming will start as slight favourites but there is enough to suggest that Invictus Gaming will be very hard to beat. When two teams are as even as this, it’s always a prudent idea to back both teams to win a map apiece. JD Gaming have been just that bit more consistent, so if you’re looking for a direct match winner, then JD Gaming is your team.
Invictus Gaming have been busy in the offseason, making plenty of smart changes to their roster. They have added some more firepower in the bottom lane. It will be interesting to see how Rookie, Puff and Wink handle the lanes between them. JD Gaming will continue to rely on their core players, including Loken in the bottom lane and Kanavi as jungler.
