The LPL resumes on Wednesday with two more important games at both ends of the table. We take a look at some bets to consider from Wednesday’s action from China’s competition.
Total maps: Over 2.5 (2.38)
This might seem like an unpopular choice with LGD Gaming expected to steamroll their way past a struggling LNG Esports. However, League of Legends is hardly a predictable sport. The difference between these two teams in the standings is so stark that it’s more likely that LGD Gaming win in straight maps. LNG Esports are currently languishing at 16th in the LPL. They have shown glimpses of some good form though. The first step to destroy a nexus is collecting the first dragon and then picking up the neutral objectives. I expect LNG Esports to be able to start fast in at least one of those maps, and carry this fixture to three maps.
Light has been LNG’s most potent offensive weapon, averaging 2.91 kills per game. Maple and Flandre have also chipped in with over two kills per map, which holds them in decent stead. However, they will need these three players to stay consistent against a strong LGD Gaming roster.
Map handicap: Top Esports -1.5 (1.35)
Top Esports are arguably the best team in the LPL this split. They have been simply dominant across the board. Apart from a few shock upsets, they have been impenetrable. They are currently third on the points table but are only a few wins away from claiming the first spot ahead of the playoffs. They will have a fantastic opportunity to do that against a team that has outright struggled this summer season. Estar are currently 15th in the LPL standings, which is an unfair reflection of the skill they possess. Still, confidence and momentum aren’t on their side, which makes toppling this Top Esports team even harder.
Top Esports have the best mid laner and bot laner combination in the LPL. Mid laner Knight has the most kills in this season, averaging 5.9 per map. He even has over six assists per game. He has been very well supported by AD Carry JackeyLove, who has put up 4.83 kills per game with a kill participation of over 10.
