The loser goes on to face Royal Never Give Up in an elimination game in the loser’s bracket. Will Top Esports maintain their impressive recent run? Or will the steadier Edward Gaming quell Top’s aggression? We take a look below with some predictions for your action on Picklebet.

Road to this stage:

  • Top Esports cruised past Suning in their previous match 3-1 to reach this stage of the LPL playoffs. They have only had to play one match so far.
  • This will be Edward Gaming’s first match of the postseason.

Edward Gaming v Top Esports

Top Esports (1.59)

Top Esports finished the regular season of the spring split in third place, with a 12-4 record. This was after a slow and sluggish start to the campaign with three losses in their first six games. Their season turned around dramatically after the two-week break in the middle, which afforded them a chance to reset and go again. They were in unstoppable form after recovering their form. Edward Gaming finished second with a 13-3 record. They were only one of two teams to not lose 10 or more maps during the regular season. However, Top Esports have proved themselves as one of the most dangerous teams in the lanes in the world. That recent momentum will also play a big part in Top winning this matchup.

No prizes for guessing who was Top’s most productive offensive player. JackeyLove led with 5.06 kills per map. He also had a creep score per game of 285.26. He was well supported in the middle lane by Knight, who put up 4.5 kills and 6.57 assists at a stellar KDA of 6.91. He was, by a distance, Top’s most efficient player. Karsa and 369 also chipped in with over three kills per game each. This level of offensive output will be hard to match for Edward Gaming despite their impressive run in the regular season.

Total maps: Under 4.5 (1.45)

Another market that could be worth considering is this match to not go the distance. I don’t think Edward Gaming will be able to match up well with Top Esports in the lanes, particularly in team fights. That said, this market offers you the additional comfort of Edward winning at least one team fight that leads to a map win. If I had to choose, I’d back Top Esports to win this in four maps.
