Royal Never Give Up v LGD Gaming

Royal Never Give Up (1.59)

Royal Never Give Up have had an awful start to summer after a solid spring split. In fact, they have lost five of six matches in this summer split already, which has pushed them down to 15th in the LPL standings. They have won just 6 of 16 maps to date. LGD Gaming, one of the more inconsistent teams in the LPL, have won five of eight matches in summer, putting them joint sixth in the standings. While they have won their last three matches, RNG will be absolutely desperate to ensure they don’t slip further down in the standings. To do that, they will put in a much better performance against LGD on Wednesday.

No player from RNG has a KDA of over 3, which is a fairly big problem for the team. Gala has led the offensive production for the team with 4.06 kills and 4.5 assists per map but he has a KDA of 2.8 because he has been killed over three times per map as well. Wei and Xiaohu have averaged over three kills per map, which will bode well for the team. But they might need sustained pressure going forward.

FunPlus Phoenix v Bilibili Gaming

FunPlus Phoenix (1.22)

I can’t be sure whether FunPlus Phoenix will be able to ensure they win all team fights against a solid Bilibili Gaming. But there is a high chance they have enough to ensure they don’t lose more than one map. FunPlus Phoenix have been one of the most consistent teams in the LPL for several splits on the bounce. They are currently fifth with a 5-2 split record, having won 11 of 17 maps in summer. That might be too much for a team that have won just three of seven matches to open the new split.

Doinb has been FunPlus’ most influential offensive weapon in summer. He leads the team in kills (4.94), creep score (266) as well as KDA (6.47). This level of offensive proficiency has been hard to match for almost any other mid laner in the LPL. Nuguri has given him able support with a kill participation of close to 10 (4.12 kills and 5.18 assists per map).
