Fnatic v SK Gaming

Total maps: Over 3.5 (1.59)

There certainly is a bit of a mismatch in this fixture, particularly from an offensive standpoint. However, not a lot separated these two teams in the regular season. Fnatic finished fifth with a 9-9 record, including three straight losses. SK Gaming finished one position lower, at sixth, with an 8-10 record that included five consecutive losses. That’s why they meet here. Fnatic should win this but there is no reason SK Gaming can’t win at least a map to take this over 3.5.

Jezu has the highest kill rate in his team. He has averaged 4.17 kills with 4.72 assists per game at a decent KDA of 4. Blue, Tynx and Jenax have all managed over 2 kills per map, which helps immensely because there isn’t as much pressure on the bot laner for offensive output. Treatz also has a kill participation of close to 10 with a KDA of over 3. This is impressive and important in order to build a reliable avenue for kills.

G2 Esports v FC Schalke 04

Map handicap: G2 Esports -2.5 (2.09)

G2 Esports made some serious esports roster changes towards the end of 2020. Their League of Legends team has benefited greatly from that. They finished the regular season of the LEC with a 14-4 season record, at the top of the standings, while Schalke 04 eventually ended at fourth with a 9-9 record. Schalke 04 aren’t a bad team but G2 are just so strong that it’s hard to see them not being able to put together three successive solid maps. Their lane dominance is hard to match as well.

Rekkles, an import from Fnatic has been in seriously impressive form this season, averaging a stunning 5.61 kills at an astounding KDA of 12.61. Caps and Jankos have both contributed immensely as well, with kill rates of well over 4 apiece. Their all-round strength across the lanes might be just too much for Schalke 04 to handle.
