Vitality v G2 Esports

G2 Esports (1.45)

It’s not surprising that G2 Esports are currently at the top of the LEC standings. They have been an outstanding team right through these last few splits, which is indicative of their consistency in Europe. They have won four of five matches in summer of 2021 so far to take the lead atop the LEC table. Vitality, on the other hand, are at the other end of the standings. After two wins in five matches, Vitality are now joint sixth in the LEC table. In a best-of-one encounter, it’s not impossible that Vitality upset G2, but with the difference in depth between these two rosters, it does indeed look unlikely at this point.

Rekkles has fit in beautifully with G2 after his move from Fnatic. He is currently leading the offensive production for G2, with 6.2 kills and 5.4 assists with a death rate of just 1.2 per map. That has earned him a KDA of 9.67 with a team-leading creep score of 338. There aren’t too many better players in the LEC right now. Caps and Jankos have provided adequate support with a combined 9.2 kills between them. This level of offense in the lanes will be hard to stop for Vitality.

Misfits Gaming v Excel Esports

Excel Esports (2.60)

Misfits Gaming have made a fantastic start to summer so far. In fact, they are now jointly at the top of the LEC table with a 4-1 record, same as G2. Looking at their previous split performances, it wouldn’t be unfair to say that Misfits so far have overachieved. That will be on evidence on Friday when they face a solid Excel team, who have won two of five matches in summer to date. This LEC table is much closer than the history of the split suggests. Moreover, there is a much higher payout awaited if Excel manage to win a few team fights, which is certainly not implausible.

Nukeduck has led Excel in kills so far in summer. He has registered 3.6 kills, 3.4 assists and just 1.8 deaths to earn himself a steady KDA of 3.89. Kryze is leading the efficiency of Excel with a KDA of 5.43.
