The LEC returns this Friday with a full round of fixtures. Will Fnatic snap out of their funk? Will G2 finally move up the table? We take a look with some predictions below.
G2 Esports (1.44)
G2 haven’t had a good start to the LEC at all. Out of seven games, they have lost three. They did make a recovery by thrashing Fnatic in their previous game on Saturday though. That should leave them with some confidence and momentum against another team that has enjoyed both characteristics.
From a personnel perspective, G2 Esports have one of the best rosters in Europe. Perkz has led the kills with 3.71 per game. He has a solid KDA of 5. Mid laner Caps has a slightly better KDA of 5.08 on account of a lower death rate. They will need some of the others, like Jankos and Wunder, to step up and push G2 Esports to the top, where they belong.
Fnatic started the split with a quality win against Misfits. They had a good opening weekend but a terrible second week. As a result, they have been pushed down to 3-4 for the summer split. That’s not a fair reflection of the talent that Fnatic possess across their squad. SK Gaming have won four of seven so far, but I don’t think they have the same level of production as Fnatic.
Rekkles, Fnatic’s bot laner, has continued his fine run of form this split. He has a KDA of 6.5 by building 3.43 kills, 1.14 deaths and 4 assists per game. He would want to improve on that kill participation a bit. SelfMade has complemented Rekkles well, with a similar KDA.
Team Vitality (1.74)
Both teams have losing records in this summer season so far. That doesn’t mean much so early. Vitality have been quite solid though, winning three of seven maps. Excel Esports have won two of seven. The separating factor could be the depth in the squads of both these teams because most other factors, including recent form and confidence, cancel each other out.
Comp has led Vitality’s offensive production with 3.57 kills per game. Vitality have four players with a KDA of over 3. Excel Esports, on the other hand, don’t have any player with over three kills per game. None of Excel’s players have a KDA of over 3 either.
