Evil Geniuses v Team Dignitas

Evil Geniuses (1.18)

After several splits of indifferent performances, Evil Geniuses finally found some form and fluency in the summer of 2021. They finished the regular season with an 18-9 record, which put them third in the LCS table. That is far better than their initial outlook after a poor year in 2020. Now, they have a chance to build on that with a strong display in the playoffs. Team Dignitas finished sixth in the LCS this year, with a 12-15 match record. A losing record will not help their confidence much against a team that has been at the top of their game. In a best-of-five encounter, you can expect EG to be too strong.

Personnel

Danny has led the production for EG this season, with 4.11 kills, 2.07 deaths and 5.07 assists per game. IgNar, in fact, has the team’s best KDA, producing just 0.81 kills, 2.04 deaths and 8.7 assists per game, earning himself a KDA of 4.67, which is exceptional for a support player.

Cloud9 v Team Liquid

Cloud9 (1.68)

For a team of their quality and skill in the lanes, a fourth-placed finish is well below the expected outcome for Cloud9. They won just 15 of 27 matches in the LCS’ summer split, which is good enough for a spot in the playoffs but might not be against some of the best in the league. They will be up against a Team Liquid team that could not sustain their excellence after a strong spring split. Team Liquid finished joint fifth with a 15-12 record. Between the two of these teams, Cloud9 might have just a little more across factors, including offensive firepower in team fights. Over a longer duration, that could be the difference between two solid teams.

Personnel

There have been several personnel changes for Cloud9 this season, including the acquisition of a few players from G2. One of those players, Zven, has led the offensive kills for Cloud9, putting up an average of 3.94 kills along with 6.5 assists per game. He has a KDA of 7.83, built on a low death rate of just 1.33. Fudge, Perkz and Blaber have all averaged over three kills per map to provide Zven with plenty of support.
