The NA LCS has kicked off in high gear. We take a look at some of the teams to consider from this weekend’s opening round of games.
Team Liquid (1.30)
It has been a tough start for Liquid this season. They have won just two of six games so far this split, which will displease them. However, their roster is experienced and skilled, and are easily one of the best in the LCS. Immortals have had a solid start to the season, which is why the odds for Liquid are as high as 1.30. It wouldn’t be a bad choice to add another selection or two to Team Liquid to your slip.
Cloud9 have reaffirmed claims that they are one of the best teams in the LCS. They have plenty of skill and depth, which is evidenced from their unbeaten start to this split, which comes after a middling finish at last year’s Worlds. TSM won’t be easy to beat, particularly after their four wins on the bounce. But always back class and skill over form in best-of-ones. Team Liquid and Cloud9 for a double is a solid bet.
Golden Guardians (2.08)
CLG have been in woeful form this year, putting up just one win so far (against Evil Geniuses). That is one factor Golden Guardians could capitalise on moving forward. In terms of confidence, Golden Guardians could also some of their own momentum, particularly after a morale-boosting win last weekend against Team Liquid. Don’t miss the higher payout for them as well.
100 Thieves (2.17)
Dignitas started the season in sprightly fashion, but have since fallen away, from a form perspective. They began with three successive wins, but have now lost three on the bounce. That won’t bode too well for them, confidence wise. 100 Thieves, on the other hand, have a strong chance in this. Even though they lack some experience and offensive ability, when compared to Dignitas, they do have plenty of factors to fall back upon, including defensive prowess. 100 Thieves have split their six games so far, but have racked up wins against Liquid, Counter Logic Gaming and Golden Guardians.
