Here’s a round-up of some news from free agency and a big retirement.
DragonX have finally announced the rest of their roster after parting ways with four of their regular starters. Top laners Hwang “Kingen” Seong-hoon and Yoon “Destroy” Jeong-min were acquired in their bid to replace Doran.
Mid laner Song “SOLCA” Su-hyeong, who changed his in-game-name from Quad, will occupy a vital position for DragonX in 2021. Jeong “BAO” Hyeon-woo and Son “Rebeca” Min-woo were called up from the academy to fight in the bottom lane.
Jungler Pyosik is the only player from DragonX to survive the season. He will have to guide a relatively younger team through some starting troubles in 2021.
Meanwhile, DAMWON Gaming, winners of the LoL Worlds this year, have acquired the services of former FunPlus Phoenix and SKT top laner Kim “Khan” Dong-ha. According to Dot Esports, this signing likely means Jang “Nuguri” Ha-gwon will be parting ways with the team, though there’s been no official word from DWG about that yet. The top laner who dominated at Worlds 2020 is reportedly the “biggest fish” in the LCK market, having received multiple offers from teams in the LCK and LPL.
Over in the LCS, Yiliang “Doublelift” Peng has announced his retirement from professional League of Legends, leaving a gaping hole in TSM’s roster this season. His retirement came shortly after Bjergsen’s retirement. He had mentioned he was considering his future in the sport if Bjergsen would retire, which has now happened.
Even though TSM acquired Tristan “PowerOfEvil” Schrage to replace Bjergsen in the middle lane, this could be a massive transitional period for the team. At least, they still have Bjergsen around the team, in the capacity of head coach.
