Day 2 of the ESL Pro League Season 10 Finals is set to kick off in Odense, Denmark.
This has been a super-close matchup historically. Both teams have three series wins apiece, but it is 100 Thieves (Formerly known as Renegades) that has been the better team in BO3s since adding liazz and Gratisfaction. The vast majority of the maps have been close as well. In fact, the most common scoreline between these two teams has been 16–14, and the over has been hit in nine out of eleven maps played. As such, I would suggest taking the over in this one, either in Total Rounds (+26.5) or Total Maps (+2.5).
fnatic have been dominant in this matchup ever since Golden and flusha returned to the roster, winning all three series without dropping a single map. The fact that fnatic have started incorporating Vertigo into their map pool probably makes them an even bigger favorite, as they can now afford to ban Train straight out of the gate. This is a short number on fnatic, but it is hard to disagree with the oddsmakers on this one.
Like they say in boxing, styles make fights, and this is a pretty bad matchup for G2 stylistically. The last time these two sides met was at DreamHack Masters Malmö, where Astralis came out victorious with a score of 2–0. Interestingly, G2 were able to take Astralis to OT on Nuke in that series — but were comfortably beaten on Dust2. Despite this, it is on Dust2 that G2 likely has the best shot at pulling off an upset, as this is a map that Astralis have proven to be vulnerable on throughout 2019. In addition, this is a map that plays more to G2’s strength, as they have a rather individualistic playstyle. All things are pointing towards an Astralis win here, but I give G2 a shot at taking Dust2 if it comes to that.
These two sides have played each other twice in BO3s, and Liquid have come out ahead in both of these series with a score of 2–0. However, this is a misleading scoreline as both of these series were incredibly close. In fact, all but one of these maps went to overtime. This is a pretty decent number on a mousesports side that is in fine form at the moment, coming in with winds in their sails after winning CAC 2019. I like mousesports chances of taking at least one map in this one.
Renegades (Formerly known as Grayhound) are coming in as slight favorites in this matchup with Sharks. Personally, I was hoping for a longer number on Sharks than this. At this number, I would favor the more experienced Renegades side that has wins against top international competition on their resumé. I personally really liked the pickups of Sico and INS, and I think this has only made them better.
This North team has looked far from great recently, but out of all teams that they could be matched up against in this tournament, ATK is probably the weakest. I think that North are fairly rated here, as they probably win this match at least four out of five times. There is easily a world where North screws this up, but I would favor North since they are the more experienced and individually skilled side.
