By finishing 5th in the EU qualifiers they didn’t manage to qualify for the first Major of the season. They will miss it and it’s $500,000 prize pool.

The Change

Sometimes even when you give it your all, a change is necessary. A few days ago, OG announced that with a wistful heart they are parting ways with their friend Yeik “MidOne” Nai Zheng, and would like to thank him greatly for everything he did for them.

Because of that, and because of their non satisfying games and matches, they decided to change some things. MidOne, a player that joined OG in January last year together with Saksa, decided to step away from the organization.

The Dota 2 results for the past few months have been quite rough on the squad, and the team as a whole felt the need for a breath of fresh air among their ranks. A re-adjustment is sometimes necessary, but MidOne is an extremely talented player whose mischievous energy brought immense amounts of joy and laughs to everyone around him, his fans as well. Sadly, change was needed, for both parties.

The two longest lasting members and founders of OG had to say this about MidOne’s departure:

I want to thank Yeik for his hard work, and for the sacrifices he has made for OG and for the Team. He is an extraordinary player, and is unfortunate we couldn’t get better results together. Thank you Yeik, and best of luck!” __Johan “N0tail” Sundstein (Captain of the Dota 2 team, Co-owner of OG esports) __

Competitive synergy is something very unique and complex. Yeik is one of the best players we have played with, and we worked very hard for months and made a lot of improvements… but unfortunately it never “clicked”. It happens sometimes. We want to wish him the best of luck moving forward and hope he finds a great team where he can shine.Sébastien “Ceb” Debs (Co-owner of OG esports)

OG will be welcoming a new carry player approaching Season 2 of DPC, stay tuned for more announcements to come.
