WePlay! presents WeSave! Charity Play, a global online charity tournament to combat the spread of COVID-19. The tournament is featuring 24 teams and a prize pool of $120,000, spread evenly across six regions. Let’s analyze some of the playoff matches.
Geek Fam @ 1.52
Geek Fam is looking really good. With 3 consecutive wins, I think they are ready to make a 4th one. On the other hand Adroit is a real underdog team. Team that surprised us all in the last month or so by qualifying for ESL One Los Angeles, a Dota 2 Major tournament. Geek Fam won vs BOOM 2-0 in the semifinals of the SEA region, while Team Adroit surprised TNC by taking them down 2-1. My bet here is Geek Fam to win this BO3 match.
Natus Vincere @ 1.40
NaVi and their new lineup are looking pretty solid. Last time they played vs Hellraisers was at ESL One Los Angeles qualifiers, and they won that match with a clean 2-0. But now, the situation is a little bit different, this is a fun tournament and I wonder if they will take this seriously enough. They surely want to prove themselves. NaVi won vs Dendi’s new stack B8 in the quarter finals of this EU / CIS region, while Hellraisers surprisingly won vs Virtus.Pro, who is a much stronger team on the paper. But as I said, I’m not sure how seriously teams are taking this tournament. Anyway, NaVi should win this, they are playing amazing. B8 is just not on their level.
Evil Geniuses @ 1.36
CR4ZY is a newly formed team and even though they had some good games in the StarLadder Dota 2 Minor, they still have so much to learn. Evil Geniuses disappointed us at the Dota Summit, losing to OG.Seed in the lower bracket finals. They are the only tier 1 team in the North American region of this tournament, and they are surely the biggest favourites to take a win in their region. This BO5 match will show us how serious they are, as they already lost 1 map in the semifinals to business associates, a team that can’t make any impact on the scene currently. EG are big favourites here, even more since the match itself will be played in best of 5 series. I doubt CR4ZY can take 3 maps from EG.
