ESL One Los Angeles 2020 - Online: Unique vs Team Spirit

Over 2.5 @ 1.96

Both of these teams are constantly re-shuffling their lineups and their Dota 2 experience has been quite turbulent. Unique features an all-Russian roster and is led by Dota 2 veteran Vanskor. They are hoping that youngsters like Zitraks and 19teen can learn from his experience. Unique opened this tournament with a loss (1-2) against Natus Vincere. I was genuinely surprised how well they played in Game 1 against NaVi.

Team Spirit has been around Dota 2 since 2015 but they haven’t had any real success, but they have managed to get some decent names for the 2020 Dota 2 season, including AfterLife and Misha. Both of these teams come into this contest having lost four of their last five matches and they are currently tied for sixth place. Team Spirit is the stronger squad on paper, but this matchup is closer than it appears and I think it has a good chance to last more than 3 maps.

ESL One Los Angeles 2020 - Online: Natus Vincere vs Chicken Fighters

Chicken Fighters +1.5 @ 1.56

Natus Vincere are probably the most famous Dota 2 organization of all-time and are a contender to win this tournament. Currently, they are 1-0 and they sit in second place of Group A, tied with Chicken Fighters, who are a seasoned 2020 stack led by ex-NaVi player SoNNeik0. NaVi finished first in the ESL One Los Angeles 2020 CIS Closed Qualifiers while Chicken Fighters were competing in a lot of smaller, online tournaments, winning one of them. Both teams are doing really good in the last matches, as both teams have 4 wins from the last 5 Dota 2 matches played, in all competitions.

Seems like Chicken Fighters might be called CIS killers, as they have beaten Team Spirit and Winstrike two times in the last few weeks or so. Can they prove that in this match vs NaVi? I believe NaVi are favourites here, but Chicken Fighters might pull off a map for sure. This league started with a lot of surprises and I do think it can happen again. Chicken Fighters looks very good on the paper.

ESL One Los Angeles 2020 - Online: Team Liquid vs Alliance

Alliance +1.5 @ 1.51

This will be a hell of a battle. The International 2013 champions vs The International 2017 champions. Of course, with a different lineups, but still. This match has a certain weight, a rivalry weight. Alliance dropped Neta “33” Shapira and Adrian “Fata” Trinks from their roster a week ago. Alliance has confirmed Gustav “s4” Magnusson is back in the team, while they’ve announced Xibbe from OG.Seed as their fifth player for this tournament only.

Alliance finished 3rd at last month’s StarLadder ImbaTV Dota 2 Minor Season 3, but they had a slightly different lineup. It will be interesting to see what they can do with this new player and what will be the 5th player they are gonna sign after this tournament. I watched them on Sunday vs NiP where they lost the match with a 1-2 score. They had their moments of brilliance in game 2, which they have won, but in the other 2 games they were destroyed, especially in the 1st game which was only 27 minutes long. They will need some time to adjust their lines and game play to their new players. That’s probably the reason why Team Liquid are the favourites in this match, according to most sportsbooks.

Liquid is coming into this match as the 4th place team from March’s DOTA Summit 12. They are another team who started this online league with a loss. They have been crushed in a 2 map match vs Team Secret, most probably the best Dota 2 team currently in the world. Team Secret needed 69 minutes in total (both maps included) to run over Team Liquid for the 2-0 victory. Liquid is now looking for redemption in the match vs Alliance. Their last match was one month ago in the StarLadder ImbaTV Dota 2 Minor S3 where Alliance beat Liquid with a 2-1. The glimpse of hope for Liquid can be found in their match vs OG 2 weeks ago, where they’ve beaten OG with a 2-0 victory in the WeSave! Charity Play. I have a hard time deciding here between those 2 teams. 3 maps are possible.
