Day 1 of the Singapore Major went as expected. Upper bracket is over for now, and today we are following 4 lower bracket matches.
3 favourites and 1 underdog won their series as we predicted yetserday. Let’s check out the lower bracket
Fnatic @ 1.41
Fnatic had a rough day 1 in the playoffs. 0-2 vs Evil Geniuses. But I would say that was expected as Evil Geniuses are much stronger and just on another level. On the other side, I do believe that OB Neon is the weakest team in the playoffs. Even though they did beat Team Liquid with 2-0, that was their only real win in the Group Stages and Liquid came so unprepared to this tournament. This should be Fnatic’s game. Slightly lower odds, but should be a sure win.
Vici Gaming @ 1.66
Now this is a real clash. One of the best Chinese teams right now vs one of the best European squads. As I already said, I feel like Chinese teams are very strong this season and this is another plus for Vici. Chinese teams have hard regimes and hard training within high quality eco systems and leagues. That’s another way why Chinese Dota 2 teams are so strong usually. Liquid is not in their top form. In the group stages they’ve only managed to win one series and that was a win vs Vici Gaming, their opponent today. This is a higher stake match, and I do believe Vici Gaming can take this. Liquid had a fluke match vs OB Neon too, losing 0-2, so everything is open here.
Team Aster +1.5 @ 1.45
This will be a very hard series for Aster. They already lost once against Thunder Predator in the group stages. Another minus for Aster is that they are still playing with a standin, and that is seen on their last matches. 1 win, 3 losses and 3 draws in the group stages. Thunder Predator won the group stage, but they got crushed by Secret in the round 1 of the playoffs. Now this is all of nothing for them. High stake match, loser is going home. Yes, Thunder Predators are favourites, but I feel like Aster can pull out a map here. Decent odds, and decent chances for them to try upset the favourites.
Virtus.Pro @ 1.30
Actually Quincy Crew did much better as I thought they would. They finished their group stage run in 4th place with 2 wins, 3 draws and 2 losses which is pretty solid if we take into consideration that they are playing with a standin on position 4. MSS is missing and he is being replaced by Poloson. However, I do think this is the end of the road for them. VirtusPro should be too strong for them. Even though VirtusPro failed to beat PSG.LGD in the upper bracket round 1, I do believe they are higher level then Quincy Crew. Everything should be on their side. Odds are slightly lower, but should be enough for a bigger safe bet.
